This years No. 4 & 5 OPM was hotly contested by 5 Open F-Class and 6 Standard F-Class shooters.
Unfortunately Jerome and Bruce were only able attended one of the 2 days.
Congratulation to Stuart Braund from CTV RC winner of FO and James Freebairn from Balaklava RC winner FS
The weather was very pleasant for both days with cool to mild air temperature with mostly high cloud but wind condition were very tricky some manage a constant condition through-out their 10 record shots and others got completely bamboozled I was one.
Most had to work very hard to keep the shots in the bull once again demonstrating that the super V target is working well and it’s all about reading the wind to be victorious.
One notable display of marksmanship was from Malcolm Hill whom drove his 5.62 superbly through some tough conditions to prevail with 60.3 well done Malcolm
Jim Freebairn also showed the FO shooters how it’s done on more than one occasion a great effort from him considering he was also RO for the day Jim Agged 2 more point that Stuart over the 2 days.
I know the State F-Standard team will be in good hands with Jim coaching in Canberra
Clancy Helbig also but in some good result with her recently rebarreled Standard rifle winning the first 500 on Saturday with a very credible 58.1 I recon we will be seeing some good shooting from her from now on.
The numbers of f-class were down from last year and it would be great if we all could attend this meeting in the future the No. 4 & 5 DRA do some great work with arranging sponsorship and accommodate the f-class competitors with out our support this may not be the case in the future.
The competition also included a 4 man team’s match on Saturday and a pair’s match on Sunday
